Thinkfun Chocolate Fix review has been highly sought after, given that we have recently launched Thinkfun Chocolate Fix Challenge in Singapore, at Toys”R”Us Vivocity and Tampines Mall, where we are giving away a few play sets as gifts to lucky participants in celebration of the holiday season.
Thinkfun Chocolate Fix Logic Game is one of the logic puzzle games that is rising in popularity in other parts of the world, not just in Singapore. They are making a big comeback – and for good reason.
Today, my team and I will review this logic puzzle and give you a deep-dive introduction to the game, as well as whether this game is right for you or your child.
Do you think this logic puzzle game is suitable for you, or your child in terms of his learning and development? Let’s find out from this review!
Thinkfun’s Chocolate Fix Logic Game is a fun-filled board game that turns a problem-solving challenge into a sweet adventure, requiring the player to solve challenges using critical-thinking skills.
You, as the player, use clues provided in the challenge booklet, to figure out the correct arrangement of the adorable chocolate-shaped pieces.
The objective of the game is to match the colors, shapes, and positions of each piece to “solve” each puzzle!
Inside Thinkfun Chocolate Fix puzzle set, you’ll find everything you’d need to dive straight into the world of sweet, logic challenges:
An assortment of “chocolates” of different colours (pink, brown, white) and shapes (square, circular, triangular), designed to be placed in the correct arrangement according to the challenge card.
An easy-to-use tray where all the “chocolate” pieces are arranged to solve each challenge.
A variety of challenges sorted by difficulty levels. Starting from beginner-friendly puzzles and gradually progressing to more complex brain teasers that grow with your child.
This guide helps you and your child to check your answers, or get unstuck when you feel that it’s getting difficult.
Thinkfun Chocolate Fix Logic Game is designed for young children aged 8 years and above.
That’s the recommended guideline as stated on the packaging. However, we did find younger kids (aged 6 to 7 years) enjoying the beginner levels with a bit of guidance from their parents and adults.
The rule of thumb is:
If your child is below the age of 8 years old, he can still play, but parental guidance is highly recommended in order to play at ease.
Thinkfun Chocolate Fix is a logic puzzle game where you, as the player, use clues to figure out the arrangement of the “chocolate” pieces on the tray – just like how you would solve a sweet mystery!
If you’re interested in finding out how the game works, we’ve come up with a separate How-to Guide on how to play in a kid-and-parent-friendly way.

High Replay Value
When I was playing this puzzle game, I didn’t get bored with it easily as there are many challenges and each challenge feels fresh and stimulating to my mind. With 40 challenges that increase in difficulty and complexity, I’m sure your child can come back to solving new logic problems every so often.
Once they grasp the basics, on to the next difficulty as their brain looks for harder levels that can fill the satisfaction.
Portable and Durable
The entire game board is compact and lightweight. Whether it’s for car rides, or classrooms, I feel that this puzzle is a low-mess, easy-to-carry game for young and adult travellers. I personally had no trouble opening it up to play on my daily commute to my workplace (even though I was getting weird stars all over).
If you and your child travel often and crave an on-the-go brain-stimulating puzzle, consider this!
Wide Difficulty Range
A good pointer about the Thinkfun Chocolate Fix Logic Game that I want to highlight is the wide range of difficulty levels. The challenge book starts with simple, confidence-building challenges and gradually moves toward advanced logic levels.
As I put myself in the shoes of the younger kids playing it, I can emphasise what goes through their minds as they try to solve it for the first time. The difficulty range makes it inclusive for me and also for various ages and learning stages, as younger children ease into it, while older accompanying adults can enjoy the later levels.
Builds Real Cognitive Skills
Every challenge reinforces important thinking skills used in math, science, and everyday decision-making. For myself, I felt like I must analyse clues, eliminate certain possibilities and combinations, and then apply logic to solve certain challenges – just like solving real-world problems.
Not Ideal For Group Play
Thinkfun Chocolate Fix is designed as a one-player logic puzzle, which means it isn’t the most ideal scenario for play and learning if you are playing together with your child or if your child decides to play with his friends.
If you’d like to solve this puzzle with your child, we would recommend that you accompany and/or guide instead of competing or treating it as cooperative play.
Your Child May Find Expert Levels Too Challenging
When I first started solving this logic puzzle, I felt uncomfortable with the difficulty curve towards the more advanced levels at the back. Do bear in mind that for a few younger players or child out there, the expert challenges may feel overwhelming.
Without the proper guidance and company, they may get stuck and/or frustrated. Hence, parental guidance is encouraged for your child to have that positive playing experience.
Family-fun Cooperative Alternatives:
Material Quality of Pieces
The “chocolate” pieces are made from sturdy, high-quality plastic that feels solid in the hands. In my hand, I didn’t find any flimsy parts, have sharp edges, or pieces that bend easily. The build quality is great for an educational toy piece, allowing the pieces to sit securely on the play board without moving too much.
This is great for your child to stay focused instead of getting distracted by loose objects throughout the playing session. I personally appreciate how premium the pieces felt in my hand, even for frequent play.
Durability For Kids
The pieces are tough enough to withstand handling from younger children. The best part is that they don’t chip, deform, or lose their colours after many rounds of play! If you’re an educator or a parent deciding whether this is the right toy option for repeated use by children, I would say it’s a reliable choice!
Aesthetic
The “chocolates” come in 3 different flavours – strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. That translates to pink, white, and dark brown, respectively. To me, they’re incredibly adorable and eye-catching, especially if they’re for children. It’s the kind of educational toys that make you smile the moment you open the box and see it!
Thinkfun Chocolate Fix is a well-crafted logic puzzle that delivers high replay value, durable and premium build quality, and real educational value for both you and your child.
With a wide range of difficulty levels available in a dessert-themed design, this puzzle game is ideal for children aged 8 years and up (as recommended by the guideline), but also open to children below that age group too, as long as parental guidance and supervision are provided.
As a parent or educator, if you’re looking for a reliable, screen-free puzzle game that is structured, yet engaging and fun, look no further than this. Overall, I’d rate this puzzle game a 9/10 for its educational value and long-term playability.
